The Fundamentals of Internet Architecture

Refresh Bellingham is proud to host Adrian Pike. Adrian will be talking about the fundamentals of internet architecture. Front-end designers and developers have always maintained (at best) an uneasy truce with the servers and infrastructure that allow them to display their work to an appreciative world. For many, anything beyond the FTP window is black magic. Find out how the heck DNS really works and what exactly you're paying GoDaddy for, why servers are different from each other and what to look for, and why your website is slow and how to make it faster.

When? Where?

Refresh Bellingham will be meeting on Wednesday, February 17th at Extremes Sports Grill. Adrian's presentation and the following Q & A will be from 6pm to 8pm. If you'd like, please join us for dinner and a drink afterward.

Please, let us know you're coming.

About Adrian Pike

Adrian Pike started developing applications for Commodore 64 back when leg warmers and neon clothes were cool--the first time. He quickly moved to the web after Al Gore took the initiative to create it, and, after surviving the rigors of college, accepted a position as the Chief Technology Officer at Tatango. He's since gone on to work with a number of startups, specializing in scaling and architecture for web-based applications. He enjoys longs drives in dilapidated Volvos that are older than he is and a good IPA.
